Wellington, the coolest little capital in the world.
Arrived in Wellington on a sunny afternoon and the drive with the car from the airport, along Evans Bay and Oriental Bay, makes you instantly feel mesmerised by the beautiful views and at the same time it is a coming home to New Zealand!
The city centre of the capital has so much to offer, it is very busy day and night and yet it feels cosy and colourful.
Oriental Bay so close to the city is beautiful and the water of the Wellington Harbour looks so cool and fresh!
What better way to find out than by strolling on the walkways along the water, soaking in the views and hearing the tuis sing their song to celebrate the spring and the nectar they enjoy from the flowers of the harakeke, the New Zealand flax. At the moment the tui welcomes me, my heart leaps, I feel very much at home again?
